Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre and McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center present The Wizard of Oz on Friday, June 16th at 7:00pm and Saturday, June 17th at 1:00pm. Based on L. Frank Baum’s classic American fairy tale, Prairie Fire’s version is set in contemporary American at the beginning, and it is from there that the tornado takes Dorothy over the rainbow to Oz. Up to 75 youth are needed to play the roles of Dorothy, Toto, The Munchkins, Glinda the Good Witch, The Tinman, The Cowardly Lion, The Green Guard, The Wizard, The Emerald City Traders, The Flying Monkeys, The Winkies, Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and the Yellow Brick Road. Two professional actor/directors from the staff of Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre will conduct the auditions as well as direct the production and play the roles of The Scarecrow and The Wicked Witch of the West.
