    Name: Walk-the-Waush Sunrise Hike
    Date: August 4, 2018
    Time: 5:15 AM - 11:00 AM CDT
    Event Description:
Walk-The-Waush Sunrise Hike. Join fellow hikers on August 4th for a 2.0-mile group hike on the Ice Age Trail along the Mecan River Segment. This hike will take you to the top of a hill to watch the sun rise over the Mecan River watershed. This is the third and final of three extra guided hikes the Waushara Chapter included in its 2018 Summer Agenda in honor of the “Walk-the-Waush” Challenge. We will meet at the Mecan Springs parking area at the intersection of 6th Lane and Chicago Rd at 5:15am (Twilight). We will carpool north to the parking area on Buttercup Dr. to begin the hike back to Mecan Springs. We will then retrieve vehicles left on Buttercup Dr. Sunrise is at 5:48am. Sunrise is defined as the time when the upper most portion of the sun begins to rise above the horizon. Plan on completing the hike about 7:00am. This hike is moderate difficulty. We may cancel due to inclement weather. Remember, ALL “Walk-the-Waush” Log Sheets must be returned to us by August 23rd. Then, join us on Saturday, August 25th, at Willow Creek Park, for our Post-Challenge Walk/Hike, “Let’s Light Up the Night” Hike. At that time, all awards and prizes will be presented. Check out our Facebook pages for further event updates and don’t forget to post your Challenge walks and hike’s photos. https://www.facebook.com/events/156545455011441/ or https://www.facebook.com/IceAgeTrailAllianceWausharaCounty/
