Several of our communities have passed the room tax ordinance otherwise known as the Waushara Tourism Resource Commission. The communities who have enacted the room tax are: Town of Bloomfield, Town of Dakota, Town of Marion, Town of Mount Morris, Town of Oasis, Town of Plainfield, Village of Plainfield, Town of Rose, Town of Saxeville, Town of Wautoma, City of Wautoma, and Village of Wild Rose. This Commission was established in 2006 and continues presenting information to the various Townships and Villages with the importance of this resource and how it has helped see Waushara County grow economically and in the popular resource “Tourism”. With the collection of the “room tax” monies the WTRC has disbursed funds to various events with the purpose of promoting overnight lodging, exhibiting in trade-shows, outside advertising and the Waushara Chamber Kiosks.
