“Ware”ing Out Cancer Benefit. Melissa Ware was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on March 12, 2018. Melissa was diagnosed at 36 years old. The news was life changing not only for her but for her husband and children. Unfortunately, Melissa’s cancer is incurable and she was given approximately two years left to live. After an unsuccessful chemotherapy treatment and immunotherapy trial, Melissa is currently undergoing a second round of chemotherapy in hopes to keep the cancer from spreading as it has already metastasized to her lungs, lymphnodes, and liver. At this time there are no surgical options available for Melissa. With her husband, Tim, at her side, she drives to Madison every other week for treatments. Through all of this, Melissa has continued to work for the Wautoma Area School District as the Technology Director. In order to offset the costs of medical bills and to provide Melissa with the opportunity to live her life to the fullest, friends are hosting a benefit for her. Join us on Sunday, August 11, from 11am until 3pm at Moose Inn of Wautoma. Brunch will be served for $15 per person. Tickets can be purchased for the Cornhole tournament, a basket raffle, and a large-item raffle. If you are unable to attend, but still want to donate, visit www.wareingoutcancer.com to see the donation page.
