The Waushara County UW – Extension office is sponsoring a series of one hour workshops through the end of the year as part of a “Serving Up Knowledge” Lunch & Learn Series. The public is welcome to attend. The first workshop is on Wednesday, April 18 from noon to 1:00 P.M. in the Demonstration Room of the Waushara County Courthouse. Parking is available on the corner of Elm Street and Scott Street. The first topic is ‘Volunteering’: Discover why some of the richest people in the world are not millionaires, they are volunteers, and discover how you can be one of the richest people in the world by becoming a volunteer! If you are a volunteer, come and be recognized for your contributions. To celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 15-21, we will be doing an activity during the workshop that will benefit the community. The UW - Extension mission is “We teach, learn, lead & serve, connecting people with the University of Wisconsin and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities”. Through these Lunch & Learn Classes, UW-Extension is reaching out to the community through teaching, and transforming lives, through the knowledge they are serving up. Upcoming Lunch & Learn Classes will also be held in the Demonstration Room at the courthouse in Wautoma from noon to 1:00. Future programs include: Grant Writing and Funding on May 16, Diversity and Demographics on June 20, Aerobics for the Brain on July 18, and Food Preservation on August 22. Pre-registration is needed. If you are interested in a box lunch prepared by the Department of Aging, please note that when you register. The cost will be $5.00 per person, payable at the class.
