The WACC and the City of Wautoma present Paul Filipowicz & His All Aces Band on Thursday, July 13th from 6-8:30pm. Paul Filipowicz, a Chicago Blues Hall of Fame inductee and his All Aces Band, will be performing live at Bird Creek Park in Wautoma. Filipowicz plays amplified single note guitar driven blues songs that are based on Mississippi blues progressions, much like the early Chicago blues players. He has been described as, “One of those rare bluesmen that defines the genre. There is more heart, soul and guts poured into one of his solos than most players can muster in a career." Over the 30 plus years of fronting his own band, Filipowicz has played venues from the mid-west to Denver to stints in Texas and Mississippi. Some of his fondest memories are the shows with “Hound Dog Taylor” and Mighty Joe Young” in the seventies. Along with Filipowicz, the All Aces Band includes, Chris Sandavol on Drums, Rick Smith on Bass, Benny Rickun on Harmonica and Tom Sobel on Tenor Sax. Special guest vocalist is Maggie Aliotta.
