    Event Description:
Brown Bags and Books Club. This new book club, presented by Vision 2020, is aimed at raising awareness about the economic challenges facing our community and our country. Bring a lunch to the Wautoma Public Library on Tuesday, May 21st from 11:30-12:30pm to join the discussion. May’s book will be ‘Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City’ by Matthew Desmond. ‘Evicted’ takes readers into the poorest neighborhoods of Milwaukee to tell the story of eight families whose fates remain in the hands of two landlords. Today most poor renting families are spending more than half of their income on housing, and eviction has become an ordinary occurrence in America. Its unforgettable scenes of hope and loss remind us of the centrality of home, without which nothing else is possible. Copies of this month’s book will be available for check out at the Wautoma Public Library.
