    Event Description:
Waushara County’s Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day Committee is making plans to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of a popular community event.   Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day, a family fun and resource fair is held in Waushara County each April during Child Abuse Prevention month. Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 8:30am to 12:30pm at Parkside School - 16th Avenue in Wautoma. The event features entertainment, hands-on activities, and informational exhibits focused on area resources and safety designed especially for families with pre-school through elementary age children. It has been a local tradition since 1992. One of the events original organizers, Jan Novak, notes the impact across generations, “Some of today’s parents remember attending Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day as a child and are excited to share this experience with their own children. It is such a great event for area children and families, providing a nice mix of family fun and resource information.” Many families agree. Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day attracts nearly 1000 visitors each year as Waushara County draws attention to April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day is organized by the Waushara County Department of Human Services Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day Committee. The committee includes community members as well as agency representative. To join the committee or learn more contact Jan Novak at 920-787-6600 or 1-888-250-4331 or email jan.novak@co.waushara.wi.us
